My name is Jessica Wertsch and I am the Founder of J's Chemo Bags. It all started with a passion to help others honoring my Grandmother and it turned into so much more. The bags bring comfort to each patient as they receive the cancer news and start their chemotherapy treatments. I am blessed to be able to provide them a bag to take to their treatments. The bag also includes a variety of items that will be useful to them during their journey. There are items in the bags that they don't realize they may need and it is one less thing they need to worry about. We are Bringing Comfort One Bag at a Time and thank you for being a part of our journey.
Bags
Our bags are delivered to Trinity Health/St. Mary's in Grand Rapids, MI. All patients that receive a port in the Main OR and Heart and Vascular are given a J's Chemo Bag. We are expanding and will be delivering to The Cancer & Hematology Center in Grand Rapids, MI soon! We have three types of bags: Breast Cancer bags that include Breast Cancer ribbon items as well as some added pink items, Female Bags that include more colorful items, and Male Bags that include neutral colors and generally a solid print colored bag. All bags are for adults.

The bags have a variety of items. They include a blanket, hat, handwarmers/gloves, coloring book, coloring pencils, word search/crossword puzzle, playing cards, journal, pen, lotion, lip balm, kleenex, pocket prayer shawl, handmade cards & bookmark, water bottle, and snacks. We have also added items like prayer shawls, Praying with Cancer book, magnets, bracelet, socks, homemade slippers, ensure protein drink, and vairous breast cancer ribbon items. We are always open to ideas and different donations.
